By 1943. How many condoms were issued to each GI, each month? Besides the obvious use (GIs should be so lucky) what were they often used for?

It was just on the history Channel last night and the number surprised me. Someone in the War Department had a distorted idea how much action thees boys were seeing! Indeed they were used to protect the muzzles on their weapons
Four is not correct and the total was prescribed and issued monthly regardless of leave alotted. Guys it was assumed would hang onto them until needed.

US GI and Sailors were issued 6 a month according to the prescribed SOP of the time. I would think that would negatively effect morale as it's doubtfull such opportunities presented themselves. Indeed they were used for muzzle protection on their rifles.
Here's a new question:
What was the collar insignia for the Tank Destroyer branch which was a Army branch unique to WW2 as it was eliminated after the war?

again, on the condom note. They were essentially used to waterproof items. I remember a show where a man in the navy talked about how they all held their personal items (pictures, money, matches, a few ciggarettes, ect.) in condoms. The idea being they wouldnt be damaged if they went in the water.

Adler got it with the halftrack with an AT gun mounted on it. A somewhat rare collar insignia. The WW1 tank was the collar insignia for the ARMOR Branch. Your turn Adler

You got it , if i wanted to be a dick i could have said " nope , i was looking for the actual names of THE guns that fired on the Blucher" . And the answer would have been "Aron" and "Moses".
Ok sarge your turn.

The irony of the whole Blucher deal , was that the Blucker was a state of the art cruiser , that was hit and damaged with the first salvo from guns that where at least 60 years old , made by Krupp a German company , and then hit again by torpedoes fired from Kaholmen that where 40+ years old and made in Austria ( Hitler being Austrian ).

If I'm not mistaken, Krupp made the famous 88's as well- ..now they just make coffee makers and toaster ovens........ Ok, before Adler jumps in, not the same company that's Krups and they are N-word free ;D

Alright, thanks Adler. Here we go: During Vietnam, the Marine Corps developed another use for the M2 "Ma Deuce". What was it, and why?

it was used as a sniper weapon , Carlos Hathcock came up with the idea of using it as a sniper rifle because of it's long range , he mounted the scope from his Winchester Model 70 to it and hit a VC that was about 2500 yards away.

The marine Corp also attached it to their 105 Recoiless rifle coaxial to the main weapon as a spotting round. Prior to firing the main weapon you'd fire the 50 Cal. If it hit where you wanted you knew you were on target. If it was off you adjusted accordingly. They did so on their singular 105 and on the very cool, unique, six tube, tracked vehicle the Ontos. You can see footage of this system in HUE during TET. as they were firing on the Citadel.

D@MMIT ADLER! I thought I had you with that one! ;D
Yes, during the siege of Khe Shan, the Vietnamese soldiers use to taunt the marines by getting out of their fox holes and waving, or stretching. The marines' M16s couldn't reach the distance of the Vietnamese, so someone came up with the bright idea of mounting a scope on the ol' Ma Deuce. They found that fired semi-auto, the .50 cal could really reach out and touch someone, and it really took the fun out of taunting marines. OORAH!

During the Batte for Hue city , what weapon did the Marines use to flush the NVA out of the buildings, hint , it wasn't standard issue for Marines.
