Here is what I have so far with the much appreciated assistance of Capt. Zak and Capt. John (2ndBat) !! I pieced together 2 Paratrooper impressions- One Market Garden-ish and the other is more Battle of the Bulge-ish ;D BTW, I played around with the photo's trying to achieve the 'Kodachrome' effect many of the period color images have The 'real' colors aren't that far off these images however. img.photobucket.com/albums/v247/AlvarezPhoto/Paratrooper3b.pngimg.photobucket.com/albums/v247/AlvarezPhoto/Paratrooper2c.pngimg.photobucket.com/albums/v247/AlvarezPhoto/bulge4c1.png-M42 Trousers - Capt. Chris,
You look great I am impressed! I particularly like the way you adjusted the color to appear corect for the period and your selection of background. I wish I knew you needed a first aid pouch! The M-43 appears to fit you quite well. The Mackinaw is a nice touch, unusual but quite appropriate and looks like a real nice one. The full wool ones are seldom in nice shape as they were typically moth bait after 60 years. Your thompson 6 mag bag is a great example of the mid war, partially OD, partially Khaki arrangement that I like a lot.
Thanks for submitting the pictures!

Yes, I tried to do something to disguise the fact that I was in the middle of "Suburbia, USA" ;D Thank you for the complements, John, Dan- means a lot coming from you guys! Special thanks to John for all the 'goodies' that are helping me 'fill out' my impression- the toasty wool scarf, and all the rest! I want to add the Garand Ammo belt, I just have to figure out a way to attach the suspenders to it Now let's see how the rest of you guys are doing! Get some pics up! -G

That's so weird about the belt. If you'd like we can swap it with another. I really had no idea and as you explained it it's still not clear what the problem is. I'm assuming the belt has no hook rings? If so that's very bizarre as to my knowledge it was an original old belt. Too scoddy to be a replica I would think!

Not nitpicking at all. That's just plain weird. I honestly never noticed. Obviously fine for use without suspenders or connected to a haversack. I'll check and see if there is a opposite set somewhere in the stack so I don't end up with two goofy ones! In the meantimes send it back and I'll replace it with a normal guy. I wonder if .... Who knows, obviously sections from two different belts.

Good looking scarf and map!!!!! Ste Mere Eglise, Huh? I couldn't remember which one I sent. You're uniform needs to be a bit soiled and your face needs some smudges. I really like the Garand clips and grenades Great look. Go Broncos and Go Seahawks today!!!!

Wow, simply awesome. I love how the background is blurred in that first picture hiding any out of period details. The Impression is great but does need more dirt. I always have a hard time with this. I have never washed my dennison smock (I've been using it for 2-3 years now) but it still looks too new.

Sorry about your Broncos The E-tool and pouch along with other goodies are "Shot out" Let me know when they arrive. The E-tool had a 1944 date which was a pleasant surprise. The first aid packet 1942!

Ok kind of a hijack but this uniform is also from 2ndBat thought I would share. Got a new uniform from J Robinson out in the Pacific Northwest. Here are some pics. www.worldwar2airsoft.com/pics/3ID4.jpgI need to get a liner for the helmet and and chin strap but I am overall very pleased with the purchase. The webgear is french post war but pretty close to the US ww2 issue. The Thompson mag pouches are Isralie I think but look ok and are very useful.

Lookin good Dan! That JD Robison guy is the real deal huh?? ;D Really looks good man- no worries on thread 'hijacking' lets get everybodies latest additions to their impressions! My pot didn't have a liner either, and the straps are part of the liner, but Sportsman's Guide has them for $10 www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=223022Screamingeagle101[/i], I got the grenades at my local army/navy- they come unpainted, so I painted them OD and added the yellow 'High Explosives' band at the top- I sell them for $10 bucks painted, or you can check your local surplus store, they are pretty common. John[/i]- Thanks! I owe you one this time because I am going to have to hit your PayPal Monday when the 'eagle flys' as they say- -G

When you get a chance, paint the pot a somewhat darker shade of green and the garnish and head gear will look stand out a lot better. Soil the jacket with something to darken it so it looks "field worthy" (grass stains or even some spilled coffee appropriately placed)
Everything seems to fit pretty good and i must say you got a huge noggin as you fill that pot pretty well. I just shoe glue foam pads on the inside of the pots and they wear well and are pretty comfortable. Obviously a liner is the best way to go.
I found some pineapple plastic grenades that hold BBs (Not the hokey cheap ones but actual scale replicas) years ago. They looked great and I wish I knew where you could source them again. The yellow bands were actually a residual stripe from when the grenades were solid yellow. A case of yellow grenades being painted OD right up to thin line if remaining yellow.
A couple of grenades or even some cloth tape up on the front of your X suspenders links would look super as it would desquise their European origin
Thanks for sharing the pictures Dan. You 9th Infantry Division Buck Sgt you!
