Vickers-Berthier LMG Mk3 , it was used mainly by the Indian Army from 1929 to 1950 , in 1932 a modified Mk3 was adopted by the Indian Army and known as the Vickers K .

Vickers-Berthier machine gun. Designed in 1908 by Andre Berthier. Caliber is .303 British.

Yup. That's the one. By reputation it was as good as the Bren, but the Bren was favored because it was a little lighter and shorter. It was also reputedly very reliable in dusty conditions. Maybe we should take another look at it.
It's also interesting that Berthier designed it in 1908, yet as far as I can tell, it didn't see significant use in WWI. I suppose the the refining process went too long. I found one website that said the US actually adopted it in 1917, but didn't follow up purchasing them. Browning's designs then made it a moot point.

Besal Mk. 2 machinegun. Birmingham Small Arms, Ltd. 1940. Designed as a backup repalcement for the Bren gun if Bren production was interrupted. Never went into production because they were able to produce enough Brens.

I bet you'd be the only kid on the block with one, if you owned it. DANG! My face is red . I found a similar picture in Ian Hogg's book, but I was looking at the catpion for the pic above it.
