This ain't Wolfenstein!
Though, very creative. A Chaplain would do great for impressions, but you have no source of defense. I think.

I never figured out what was with the Japanese and their fetish with Nazis. Every other Anime I've seen has some weird blond-haired dude in some tight-fitting gray uniform with some made-up rank. But then it gets all screwed up, because he's got a 10-syllable Japanese name.
Oh well.

The way I've seen it along the early war, frontline troops got heavier weapons, and lighter weapons were issued to Garrison Troops, Support, or Special groups, such as the Gebirgsjager. The MP38-40 was not one of the most liked weapons due to its lack of a forward grip, and it was not favorable in terms of accuracy.
Then again, the G43 had its own problems.

More of a "Za-nee." My friend's grand pappy was a Kriegsmarine officer. I asked him, and I guess two years of German didn't hurt.
I just yell:
Mutti!

PLF-People's Liberation Front?
Top Dog-Either the Highest NCO of a unit, or I dunno.
Just tossing an idea out there.

Sorry for the necropost, though I think this deserves some clearing up.
Special versions of the phonetic alphabet (such as baseball team names) could be used when operating on various missions, as to try to confuse the Germans just a tad, though the Krauts were usually able to succeed after a bit of time. Basically, you used what you and others were comfortable with. And really, it's only a template. It you're using the alphabet and don't remember the word, substitute it. The reciever probably isn't braindead.

Ustasha, occasional Chetniks, ah...Ukrainian National Army, Russian Liberation Front.
All were a mix of Foreign SS troops and/or Nazi sponsred partisans.

Well, yeah. Sure. Impractical at best. Go for it, but don't expect to save time or money. I'd rather blow cash than waste time.

I would imagine they would have helmets available, should the time arise. And yes, the Germans, even at the strangest of times, have a habit of keeping things extremely tidy. Heck, they wore all of their medals and badges into battle. I suppose if yer gonna die, you gotta look good.

My family in Deutschland says no. Some distant uncle was apparently some sort of Tank Commander. They just wore Side caps.

Do what I do. Get dyes, paints, et cetera. Many times, it was the only thing available, so work it out, or I can find you something.

Gas Mask Container, and a cool addition to any Fallschirmjager (The dudes with jigsaw camo, vertical bandoleers, and funny helmets) impression. Kudos.

The SS, by some comparison, could be something like a uniformed Secret Service, or more of a Special "Standard" Guard. The Flagship of the Third Reich, more or less.

Erm, why is everyone only doing the "important" or "famous" units. And where'd the Gold Wound Medal come from?

Y'know, Pea Dot wasn't the only type used. I am sure some were able to get some Italian patterns or the Splinter pattern smocks. Just throwin' it on out there.

Dang, if you want some good stuff, you should see the Market Garden event that Poland does. two words:
Good Lord! It is fantastic, and looks exactly out of "A bridge too far." Despite the fact that they must use Mausers and old Soviet Bloc weapons due to some tight gun laws, it's great.

Polish SS? Oh, you make me laugh. That scene was fantastic, and I almost died laughing. In fact, what a huge hilarious factor is that becuase of the intense fighting the Germans faced in the Polish Carpathians, Hitler actually offered to make the Polish Highlanders honorary Nazis. Of course, they rejected.
Big helmet though, yes.

Bulgarian or Spanish is the way to go if you're looking for a cheap alternative. Or, you could find a Post-War Western German Helmet.

Just get everything, or anything. Schipperfabrik sells some pretty good WW1 stuff, lots of which the Marines still used in the fifties. But really, I'd say get both the Haversack and Knapsack, as it's better to have too much than too little. (SOMETIMES)

5thranger-
Roger, didn't catch that. I swear I saw a wreath. And I know where you're coming from, I guess. At least you're not wearing a Bronze Star or Purple Heart, like some dude I saw a few years ago. EGH!
Bullets-
Well, I won't do it, unless exclusively asked by a group of veterans who approve it, and only in that case would I do something like that. I know several veterans who would get rather pissed about that.
Anywho, I'm out.

He didn't go through thirty days of bullet dodging and catching shrapnel. I guess I'm a bit too tight on the folks who wear campaign medals that were awarded sixty-five years ago and jump wings they didn't break their legs for. I mean, it should be a priviledge in itself just to wear the uniform.
