Frenchmen using Mosin Nagants. American with Soviet Grenades. Crappy insignia.
I watched this two weeks ago, and was gonna post about it, but was too thrilled by the Farbs. It scared me, and just...I dunno what to say. The plastic flashlight, 'Nam era gear, and lack of equipment almost made my father have an aneurism, and I almost died from laughter. Had my uncle been alive to seen this, he'd break the TV.

Krupp's right, and that one's probably better. I won't see this movie, because I can just tell that they had to have gotten too much stuff wrong. I'm done.

Never seen the movie. Sorry. But yeh, I dunno. Hollywood is a bit bumpy.

I'm waiting for a movie on the underdogs. A movie on those who were not immortalized. Poles, Slovaks, Finns, or something else.
I gotta say that one of the worst movies I've seen is Enemy at the Gates. Zaitsev was by no means that handsome, and they didn't even try to act Russian. God, I almost busted open my TV.

Eh, well i thought it was great. Also, I can imagine why it was filmed in Hawai'i and not the Philipines, purely because of the amount of conflict that currently resides in that country. Again, it's a movie, and Hollywood always does crap to piss us off. I wouldn't blame any of this on Dale Dye, the dude who trained all of the cast, as he was a great asset. Would it not be the best portrayal, being the only major motion picture to portray the Guerillas, and furthermore, portray the raid?
A few words: Never expect both an accurate and good movie from Hollywood.

This is by far one of the gratest movies, and Saving Private Ryan ranks among the lowest, along with Thin Red Line. I loved the part where the Pilipino Guerillas sprayed that Jap Guard and made him turn to meat chunks. Genious.

Mhm. Sure as heck was. Great for clearing Japs out of their holes and trenches, hence the great name. Fun Fact about the 1897:
Press and hold the trigger, and pump eight times. This will, when performed in rapid succession, provide a lot of damage to your enemy and your gun. So basically, it's a Para-Semi-Automatic. Fun!

Wow I must say, it all looked pretty damn good for a first event! Besides from the fa-mas's and m16's, and some inaccuratcies, it all looked good. Very cool looking feild to play at, did it just get bombed or something?Yeah, last week. Good game though.

Well, we don't really need to employ many tactics, seeing as the fools we're up against are taken out within a few seconds. Heck, I love having a Special Forces guy for a friend. Some Communist kid, who keeps on shouting about how America sucks, got his ass kicked yesterday after he waved a USSR flag in my face. Swung the butt of my rifle in his gut and shot 'em good.
Anywho, sure!
Remind me not to go off into tangents.

NKVD was not as good as it was made out to be, unfortunately. Not gonna go into it, though. But still, I'd be Coast Guard. Fools forgot to add that.

The NKVD killed Jews. But eh.
Naval Infantry. That's basically the Marine Corps for some countries. Now I am gonna go cry. Germans had Coastal Artillery and Coast Police. Basically a Coast Guard. Come on, get with it!
Anywho.

I can understand that, but the CIB, that's stepping on a few toes. Out of reverence, I only wear menial and "gimmie" medals. There are plenty of German medals that qualify as that, but I don't want to see some shrimp wearing a Gold wound badge and a Gold Tank Destruction badge. That's just lame.

For some reason, all of the dads I invite are like that, especially my own. He's the mirror image of Sergeant Schulz, too, and looks fantastic in Kraut uniform. All of them seem to get really immersed with the rolepalying involved, and one of 'em even brought some malodorous Sauerkraut, which on its own warded off an Allied attack!
Well, I am sixteen, and waiting for something to happen here in California.

Mhm. It's great.
Of course, nobody cares about the truth. The allies basically used these people, and Roosevelt effectively let the Iron Curtain fall. Could've been stopped.
Anywho, yeah. I thought about making a Blyskawica mod for a gun, but it'd be a bit of an undertaking.

Well, the AK operated on western and eastern portions of Poland. It was actually more prominent and useful than Tito's Partisans, however recieve very little credit. Anywho, I've got no pictures...yet.
But it's pretty simple. If you need any more info, PM me.

armiam.com This site sells Polish and German gear, used during the Defense War and could be used later for a ZSZ/ZBO/AK impression. Well, one is. I never got the opportunity to meet him, but from what my grandfather tells me, his stories really opened your eyes to the horror of what went on. I have made an AK impression, which is not too difficult. Really, you just need to be willing to buy some German gear and modify it with the red 'n white. Mostly, however, I enjoyed being a partisan. Unfortunately, I live on the west coast, but I would be willing to take a trip east once I get all of my stuff together. Heh, looks like we've got a little Warsaw on WW2AA.

I mentioned it a year ago, and it's a fine book. It shows just how ignorant we were, and how far we were willing to go to keep a Communist ally. Read this, and you'll know how and why I consider the USSR as much an enemy as the Jerries.
Neoptolemus, almost every point you try to make is addled. If the Commonwealth was dying, why would it have taken three empires to tackle them? Also, the French had no plans to invade the Germans, and before you try to bash the English and French, who welcomed the Polish to fight alongside them, the Russians hardly kept to their words.
And the reason for keeping names obfuscated was to keep them from being identified and possibly shot. There's a bright idea, yeah? The book's not arduous. You're just not willing to soak up the information. I had two relatives who fought in the Uprising, and I'll be damned if you try to invalidate or foul up anything in that book. Davies is probably the most reliable authority on Poland in the western world.
Oh, and sorry for the Necropost.

Rising '44: Written by Norman Davies. This tells of the Warsaw Uprising, not the Ghetto uprising for whic it is commonly and widely mistaken for.
Der Feuhrer: Forgot the Author, but tells just how deranged this dude was, and how he became what he was before he killed himself.
