It all looks so good! All you need left is have that mess kit and gas can roughed up a bit from combat I know, right? Someone's got to get a event going here in the north east so I can get dirty! Got a BF event coming up in a couple of weeks so that will help.

Unlike a lot of reenactors, I don't condemn artificial aging. If done right, it can look great!

Awesome! I really like the generic 1943/44 look. Great job!

Nice impression! I like how you have the MG pouches and accessories that really complete the look. Good job.

SS man outside Caen in the Normandy Bocage. June, 1944.

Looks good, only suggestion is to have more camo. the 12.SS, which is presumably the unit you're looking to because of Caen, had loads of camo; smocks, dot sets, and telo were used a ton in Normandy, seeing them without camo would be extremely rare.

Nice kit! One recommendation I'd give, and I give this a lot because I had the same problem not too long ago, your belt looks like it's sagging a bit in the back. Perhaps shortening your y straps and tightening your belt would help?

Awesome I really like the subtle fog and background. You also look field winded with your posture and locked knees.

Well, my Heer impression is finally, more or less, right where I want it. My goal is for a generic soldier circa 1943-44. Here it is:

You know, some of the impressions here put those old Hollywood B-movie costuming departments to shame.

I agree! Aldrich. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the effort to capture the "everyman" common soldier look. Likewise kudos to wirbelwind and all the other contributors.

This kit looks nice. But same suggestion..get that belt to ride higher! It's harder to do with MP or STG pouches I will admit

Even higher than that? Can you show me original photos?

I would disagree with raising the belt, I would say that the belt is at a good height. Nice photos! Your kit and the setting look really good.

Belt looks fine to me, definitely higher then the bottom button.

I'm not sure looking back at it it may be fine. Definitely higher than your previous photos. The front of your belt is for sure fine. It's best if the belt is covering up the belt hook holes..but I've had a lot of trouble with that myself in the past..especially with MP pouches

I take that back. When I first looked at it it looked like it was sagging in the back but it appears fine. Good kit!

Great kit, I'd just recommend a haircut and you'd complete it.

How can you see his hair when he's wearing a toque?
