SS was not only German. Take for instance the Italian SS and the Latvian SS. 7th SS Viking was made up of all different Nordic peoples, Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, etc.

And then you have this unit, (From Wikipedia): The 13th Waffen Mountain Division of the SS Handschar (1st Croatian) was a German mountain infantry division of the Waffen-SS, the armed wing of the German Nazi Party that served alongside but was never formally part of the Wehrmacht during World War II. From March to December 1944, it fought a counter-insurgency campaign against communist-led Yugoslav Partisan resistance forces in the Independent State of Croatia,[2] a fascist puppet state of Nazi Germany that encompassed almost all of modern-day Croatia and all of modern-day Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as parts of Serbia. Sorry, I guess I should have been more specific. What I meant was, in the early stages of the war, most of the SS was German. It mostly wasn't until later in the war when other countries had SS divisions (at least, it seems most of them were started in 1943 or later) Normally I would say I was half asleep when I wrote that, but I wrote it in the middle of the day  |

Why don't you go FJ?
They didn't commit as many war crimes as the SS, they used the FG42 (coolest weapon ever short of the M1 Garand) and they jumped out of airplanes. Above that, they were as elite, if not more so than the SS.

why not just plain werchmat for the love of pete. Just let him do the unit he wants but there isn't enough just plain soldiers from what i have seen

It his sub pubiecent fantasy so let him do what he wants, although this whole thread smacks of a juvenile "wut gun shood I by?" sort of deal. I know, I know if you don't like the thread don't read it but whenever Das Reich posts I'm drawn to the inane comments like a guilty pleasure or a moth to a light. My only real question for Das Reich is...are you 12 years old? it's really the only justification for the numbness of your questions and comments. Maybe I'm missing something here?

Hate is not at all what is being expressed. I apologize if my post came across as "Hateful" Rude, obnoxious, insensitive but certainly not hateful. It is quite obvious from your posts that you are young. i am actually relieved to learn that as it explains a lot. There is no foul in being young. Believe me, at my age (over 60) there is more envy then distain. Be mindful however that many of your naive posts do distract from the sophistication we are striving for on this site and in an effort to distinguish ourselves from a myriad of airsoft forums we would ask that members of this forum consider how their posts will be perceived. (especially younger members). in that vein I too will consider that my posts need to be toned down and be less harsh and judgemental.

Honestly, that would be the better way to go. At such a young age, you are going to keep growing. No sense in shelling out $100+ on a wool Uniform that you could outgrow in a few years. Get a simple HJ uniform, and start collecting the field gear, like the ammo pouches, belts, Y straps, breadbag, canteen. That stuff you can't outgrow. Once you reach 16 or so, or when you stop growing, go out and get yourself a nice quality Waffen SS Wool Tunic and trousers.

dasreich, sorry to say, but it sounds like you really don't know much on Uniforms. reading on ww2 is different then reading on how to put together a ww2 impression. And sorry, but 12 year old WSS is pretty farb. I'm pushing it at 14, but I'd recommend you either learn up on stuff A LOT(especially with your posts about modern camo for wss) or just do HJ, which would be great in its own right.

There is a credibility gap for most all of us. Weight, age, (both too old or too young) and overall conditioning. With that said a credible look is what both BF reenactors and WW2 airsofters strive for. At your young age a Hitler Youth, HJ look would serve you well, Late in the war in many cases they were the most ardent fighters and often were the key resistance (sometimes the only resistance) met. There is an excellent Movie THE BRIDGE which chronicals this well. You are going to outgrow anything you buy now so keep your investment low and go for those items that will stay consistent with whatever you eventually go with. This hobby incidently is addictive so if you're like most regulars on this site you will no doubt have several impressions.

I'm 14 and look good in an Airborne uniform (true 'Devil in Baggy Pants' look lol),because I'm 5'7. Get cheap uniforms though, you'll outgrow it in a flash. |

Yeah, I think I'll prbably need a new jacket at some point, but I doubt I'll ever need new trousers. Belt, suspenders,wool pants underneath and they're still big on me lol. |
