First. IF you did NOT register with Sean for the game the price at the gate will be $40.00 so I strongly suggest that you REGISTER by email to qualify for the $30.00 game fee.
Second. We are considering satchel charges for dislodging the German defenders from Strong points. All of this and the use of hand grenades, land mines and trip bombs will be better explained along with the mission objectives at the game. So just show up at the event... YOU WONT WANT TO MISS THIS ONE ...

I really don't think satchell charges are a good idea. They were NOT meant to take out machine gun positions unless they were in cement heavy bunkers, which the event doesn't have. Especially in an airborne unit, they were hivhly valuable assets for taking out bridges, heavy reinforced bunker complexes, and armor. Using one when fragmentation grenades were avalable was what they were advised not to do from day 1 (there are training films/tactics manuals that specifically suggest how to assault an MG position through suppressive fire and fragmentation grenades). Using a satchel charge requires someone to run up VERY close to a bunker that is shooting hundres of rounds at a bag of explosives on your body, then dispose of it in/on the position, then getting out of the blast radius before the fuse went out. Satchell charges were also not readily avalable to dispose on every/any MG position they came across. Satchell charges also had not fragmentation aspect and were meant to dispose of the enemy through concussion alone.
We really should just substitute satchel charges with an appropiate amount of fragmentation grenades. It wouldn't interfere with the scenario and also be a more historically correct tactic.

I hope at the briefing you'll also clarify artillery and mortar rules. How to determine hits? (How do you know when you are dead to mortar fire?) Referees would be nice. How many shells to fire? And I'm not pointing fingers here but let's keep the mortar on it's stand and not use it as a direct fire weapon off the knee. Yeah it's effective that way but now the bazooka can fulfill that role. Adjust the mortar fire with the mortar aiming controls only. That is for realism's sake. I like a few tennis balls and smoke shells as much as the next guy but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. I want to have a chance to use my airsoft weapon too.

Like we said, we are still in discussion about the artillery. Trust me...we were all victims of it the last game...there will be limitations.
About the satchel charges...all will be explained....
REMINDERS/UPDATES:
Friday of the event...we are still observing the separate camp system. That means no German may venture into the allied zone and vice versa. The social area is neutral and open to either team. Porta john and chrono area will be located here.
ALSO. Vehicles will be parked outside the gate as before. No vehicles may be moved beyond the gate unless heavy equipment needs to be unloaded. (Just let us know if you have a lot of baggage that needs to be unpacked and we'll unblock the gate, we just don't want too many cars inside the field at once.)
We have electrical outlets for charging batteries, I suggest that you bring a quick charger.
Bring food....and WATER. If you don't feel like carrying it along in a cooler for the drive, there are plenty of convenient stores in the area if you want to buy bottled water. Keep in mind though, it may be only consumed in the social area. Everywhere else it must be in a canteen, or concealed in a tent. We will have extra water on the site as well...don't be afraid to ask for extra! Dehydration is a soldier's worst enemy!
Allied players who are in need of a pup tent...once again...PM me! There are still a few tents up for grabs!
I know I didn't cover something....so I'll probably have another post up sometime. Please PM me with questions.

Are you sure this event does not have at least one heavy cement bunker?

Update:
As many of you know, we adhere to the golden rule of Airsoft: keeping it simple.
We are implementing ammunition and munitions restrictions for all players and all weaponry (Mortars, hand grenades, small arms and field artillery. These rules will be thoroughly explained at the event!!! In fact, all rules will be thoroughly explained at the event!!!
This is the last update that I’m going to give. Please register before next Wednesday! Registration is not a pre-pay! It is an obligation to show. We will have a list of those who pre-registered

Partisan Profile Name: Salvatore Alfredo Catanzarro Birthplace: Sicily Age: 47 Occupation: Wine Maker/part time Tailor Born in Sicily in 1896 Salvatore moved to Naples with his parents in 1906. A Veteran of World War I Salvatore enlisted in the Italian army in 1915 just after the signing of the London Pact. Severely wounded during the Battle of the Piave River he sat out the remainder of the War. In the troubled postwar Period Salvatore found himself intrigued with Mussolini and Socialism he volunteered during the Spanish civil war where he was again severely wounded. Salvatore returned to Naples and worked in his fathers business. He began to work part time in a local tailor shop manufacturing custom suits which he excelled in. He went into another business with his cousin.... a brothel which ended up bringing Salvatore a great deal of money. Catanzzarro then went into a semi retirement and moved to the Liri Valley in late 1941 where he built himself a small farm. In the Fall of '43 with the landings at Salerno, Salvatore once again found himself drawn to war, much to old at this point in his life to enlist in the regular army, he moved into the German Garrison. Living, eating and sleeping amongst the Germans, Salvatore will not hesitate to bear arms for the Axis alliance as an irregular because of his undying support for the Mussolini Regime. He has strong leadership qualities and is fearless in battle almost so to the point of being careless. He is fluent in German French and Spanish. He is quite resourceful. Soft spoken for his robust size Salvatore is always well groomed and manicured even during these uneasy times and can be seen enjoying a glass of red wine at any time of the day.
