well, they were still concidered an enemy, so they weren't really an ally. they just "adopted" all of the uniforms and gear and such. I have an example where there was a battle north of Rome conisting of an italian tank squadron and obliterated an entire german Panzer division. I'll try to find it, I remember reading about it in the book, "War in italy 1943-45." By Richard Lamb. And of course there was the Italian Fruli division (Partisans if you will) that helped the Allies on the landings, Lucky Luciano the mobster was with the Frulli. www.comandosupremo.com is an excellent source that can provide further details.

Guinness , Italian troops in the South were known as "co-belligerent" or "royalist" forces , there was a co-belligerent army (Italian Co-Belligerent Army), navy (Italian Co-Belligerent Navy), and air force (Italian Co-Belligerent Air Force). These Italian forces fought alongside the Allies for the rest of the war. A large Italian resistance movement located in northern Italy fought a guerrilla war against the German and RSI forces.

Where are you guys located? Looks like somewhere out west maybe? I agree... if you gave them a period black and white look those would be Stitch knot-see material Excellent work, I wish we could go out to Skirmish and take pictures like that, though if we did the NYPD would have us in bracelets!

The Regiment guys look great.
You don't have to have a gasmask bag, by 44 the FJ were pretty hodgepoge. There are photos of them with Luft Field Divison jackets and gasmask cans. There a really good short on youtube showing FJ knocking out Ami tanks. It shows the varying uniforms and gear.
I'm sad that I would be able to go to JTD to see you guys. The guys on BS who do FJ and now you guys. The Amis won't know what hit them.

Drew / Brian... we can't wait for JTD... I missed Master RECONDO last year at the last moment (1 hour before my flight ) I realy look forward to coming up to your area to play with all you guys... your crew does things RIGHT...
Gasmask bag and other stuff is for my other FJ impression Tropical (Afrika / Crete / Italy), But thanks for the info and Video link! Good stuff!

No big differences between Winter war and Continuation war sets. Well, in Continuation war we had uniforms for every soldier.

Dog, do you have pictures of an original WWII snow suit? I am trying to get one but I heard originals can be expensive, but that post-war patterns are essentially the same. Is that true? But bedsheets are cheap for a more 'ersatz' look

Thanks gadge, I use most of these impressions for my reenacting however I do also use a few for my airsoft. Starting now the 12th ss Impression should be my main one for airsoft.

I considered 12ss but went for 9th instead as they are one of the few ss units wiht a pretty spotless record free of war crimes.
Their conduct against my own real life regiment (the Staffordshire Regiment) at the battle for Arnhem was also exemplary with numerous accounts of chivalry between the two sides.

Looks good. Your gear will age and get dirty by themselves with constant use. Your gas mask cannister actually takes 2 people To get it on the right way unless, you have a skilled hand. The Stalhelm looks like it sits a bit high on your head try loosening up the suspension system a bit to where the liner sits just above your eyebrows

Migmadmavis , if you are going for the HEER look , the SS helmet cover has to go , what time period are you going for? not sure how many HEER units had Italian camo outside of Italy , now the SS had a lot of it , specially The 12. SS-Panzerdivision "Hitlerjugend" in Normandy. Other than those small things , looks good man.

Yeah, the SS camo cover has to go.
What rank are you? Why do you have a map case?
Hold the panzerfaust like the germans did, under the arm.
Get rid of the t shirt! Get a service shirt!
