Typical, I know i'm gonna wait it out though, but definitely not ever making another pre-order with Evike. Even so, 1 hicap and 4 (now?) midcaps does sound nice.

I'll give y'all my perspective on what this means.... I have 2 coming, one I paid for and one Im getting as payment- Now that my long feared, but cynically always expected 'end of Chicom Airsoft' has in fact begun to happen, when these DO arrive, they will already be worth more than we paid for them...
So anybody that want's out of their pre-order, ...just let me know ;-)

I'm still awaiting it out, but June is pretty crazy when it was going to be March. That's a pretty big delay, and it would be one thing if it was like the AGM MG42 that was going to come out, then got delayed, and now we have no idea what's going on with it... but it's not, we paid for these, they said they'd be here, and now they are not, and we still have our money... makes me nervous, but yeah, these could be worth money if we do ever get them.

What the hell! I spent all my money on this gun! Held back to June. I called Evike and same excuse as usually, " We always get our preorders in. Just wait until we ship it in."

Heres an idea Evike, don't let people preorder stuff till it gets to the store!!! They know we're suckers for our toys so they do crap like this! Is the PPSH pushed back as well?

I have a pre-order in with UN Company for the ARES PPSh and it's late with them also. I'm on a first name basis with UN so there is some trust with them. UN said the factory just says 'Delay!". Evike may be getting the same reply. I though that guy in China... Frontiers or something that started this BAR Who by the way has reported on Arnies on April 8th: "still waiting a bit as most factories still closed, pointless to travel if nothing to see i let you know as soon as i know when is good time to hit the scene! "

An entrepreneur with some cash would see this as an opportunity... I called the demise of Chinese Airsoft sometime ago, and predicted that countries like 'the Nam, Thailand, and heck, maybe even Mexico would be good replacements, with their cheap labor etc. Of course Airsoft is illegal in Vietnam, and Thailand- but it was always illegal in the PRC too.
Sad to say, but the way the US economy is going, we may just be the next best place to make them...

It kills me to put money in the pockets of the Chicoms, but I don't have much of a choice. I'd gladly give it to Marui, but they seem to have been overtaken by every other company out there and haven't really caught up . and forget them making WW2 weapons. they've made, what, TWO at this point? the Thompson and the M1911?

Remember Japan has all the KTW million dollar WW2 guns too fusilier that spit bb's below 1j... Guinness said it first. The way the economy is going in the US compared to Asia it may eventually be cheaper to make them in the US instead... the new Detroit iron? I say we conquor Korea (The Democatic 1/2 ) and use that labor. Hail our Dear Leader!

Realistically, there really isn't that much 'labor' involved in these things anyway- These 'factories' that we all talk about here are in reality the same kinds of 'mom and pop' shops that have been the Asian business model for centuries- Look at Shoei for example, of course thats a Japanese firm, but still. Listen, if these were actual 'factories' employing hundreds of workers, the government wouldn't dare to shutter them, because all those 'officials' would be making beaucoup $$ off kickbacks, protection, etc... cynical? moi?? The most labor-intensive thing about them right now, is wedging the CNC machine into the corner next to the families living quarters...and the time it takes to sit at a laptop PC and work up the CAD drawing and hit 'send' to the machine... Then pull the pieces off the hot lathe, whathaveyou and fit the pieces together- of course theres the electronics, etc- I over-simplify obviously- But just think of the images we have all seen of guns in various states of production with the trash and empty 5 gallon buckets propping unfinished bits up- My point is, we bring this back to the US, and 'Americanize' it- Still keep it small, and there has to be a way to make money on it

Hell, they don't even make TOY guns that don't shoot anything anymore for fear of little kids getting blown away by cops, or trying to rob stores.. But I digress.. I still think it would cost a LOT more to make even playable guns, let alone quality guns like the new PPSH and others. I really want(ed) one of these! I'm just starting on my WW2 US Infantry loadout for airsoft (so if anyone wants to help me piece that together, I'd really appreciate the help!) but it's soooo tempting to buy. It's taunting me!
In the past, all but one of my experiences with Evike have been good enough -- I bought an M4A1 from them as well as a Cybergun Thompson M1A1. The last attempt at a purchase, an M1911, I had to cancel because they had 'no clue when it would be in stock.' (Of course, I wouldn't have bought it in the first place if Evike would fraggin' update their pages more diligently...)
Unfortunately, the fact that Evike is selling it is one of the reasons why I haven't pre-ordered one yet...

On a somewhat related note, does anyone have any links about the state of the Chinese manufacturers? I was kind of curious given things like the MP-40 have been listed as discontinued on most sites. I have heard lots of rumors so far.
