I want one! WE could go with what Cpt. Bren and Sten said and make an artillery unit! There aren't any of those for airsoft to my knowledge, what do you think Misift13?

Maybe its time for us to start our own party, name a Leader over it, and overthrow Obama! From there we can make it a one party nation an annex a few nations here and there........This all reminds me of something, I just can't remember what....

Here is what I'm going to get: ATF's M43 Tunic and Trousers M43 Field Cap AGM Mp-40 w/ 5 Magazines Mp-40 Magazine Pouches Y-Straps Bread Bag Canteen Zeltbahn Binoculars Mouse-Grey Winter Parka Combat Clasp in Bronze ( I'll wear only after I've earned it) Iron Cross 1st Class(Only after Ive earned it) Ostfront and Iron Cross 2nd Calss Medal(Only after I have earned them)
Once I get a unit started them I'll promote myself to NCO.

Is Gavin Militaria on EBay or is it a traditional website? I haven't been able to find it by looking on EBay or Google.

I have been drifting towards the Heer M42 tunic from Hessen.

Because i am the most indecisive person in the world. Just today I changed my mind from doing a Heer impression, to Hermann Goering, to Luftwaffe Field Division, and then back to Heer impression. There aren't any units where I live otherwise I would just go with what a unit would say, but since there isn't I do not know what to do.

I like the looks of their M43 tunic, but I'm not sure if its better than ATF's or Hessen's. The one that ATF has to offer seems like its early war wool, and Hessen's seems too late. What would you choose?

Have any of you ever purchased from this Ebay store? Their M43 Heer tunic looks nice.

I know that some of the units have heavy support weapons such as mortars, anti-tank cannons, and even some light artillery pieces but I can't find any threads with information on them. The battlefield that I will be playing at seems like it would be perfect for setting up a mortar position to pound away at the advancing Allies. I just wanted to know how the mortars are usually made or where they are purchased from, as well as the tactics that you use when deploying mortars in airsoft. I am assuming that most of the mortars out there are "field-made", but I have found a few websites that sell them such as: MilSimLabs Soul of the Warrior Drum Works Armory

Ask yourself this: Why would I want to wear gear that is from the North African campaign era with an M36 tunic? It just doesn't make sense in my opinion. If you really wanted to use the tropical Y-straps I think it would work best with the M42 or M43 tunic, maybe the M40 tunic. Do whatever you want, I'm just giving you my personal opinion.

This is the story of my Grandfather, Johann Pfirsich and my Great Uncle, Albert Pfirsich. Both of them fought in the Wehrmacht from 1940-1945, in the Schwere Panzer Abteilung 506. My Grandfather was an NCO in the Panzer battalion's reconnaissance platoon, his brother was the commander of a Porsche King Tiger, the turret number is unknown(maybe 3-14) because my great uncle is dead and my Grandfather can't remember. They saw action mainly in the Battle of the Bulge around Losheimergraben and Bastonge. Both received the Iron Cross 1st Class. My Great Uncle is credited with destroying 15 Shermans before the end of the Bulge. My Grandfather was shot once by a .30 MG in the shoulder whilst looking out of the half track he was in. After the Battle of the Bulge they saw some combat until the April '45 when my Great Unlace and the remnants of the battalion's panzers were destroyed by there own crews. The war was over for them. My Grandfather is still alive and well today, his bother unfortunately committed suicide instead of surrendering to the Americans.

Well I don't have the funds yet, so I wouldn't be able to make the sale price. $250 is just too much for mag pouches imo. If you're a living history guy who does an impression all the time it may be worth it, but I'm just a guy who wants to play dress up as the wehrmacht and play airsoft maybe 2 or 3 times out of the year. Then I would go with Spearhead Militaria's magazine pouches.

The ammunition pouches attach to the belt. Here is a picture of the back of ATF's MKb-42 ammunition pouches. The MKb-42 was a predecessor to the StG-44, but the magazine pouches for the StG-44 and MKb-42 have basically the same belt loops. If you have any other questions about German weapons of World War One or Two and want more information than what Wikipedia can give you just send me a PM. Attachments:

I agree CharleyNovemeber. The main point of my reply was to state the fact that a Waffen-SS impression unit is hypocritical if they state that they are strictly non-political. How could you be non-political if you are the Waffen-SS ?!?!?!?

I agree with what both of you have said. There are too many Waffen SS and Fallschrimjäger soldiers out there and its really annoying. If you go to the Axis impression boards and look under the "I'm Working on It" thread all you see is Fallschrimjäger and about 99% just don't look the part, if you know what I mean. Now I can;t say that I have never thought about being in the Waffen-SS or Fallschrimjäger but after looking at all of the pictures in the different threads I think it would be best to just be a mid-war Heer solider just to be different. I do not understand the facination people have for the Waffen-SS, and many of them seem to think that they were all elite divisions. Just because a division is issued camouflage doesn't make it elite. I also think that a lot of people have secret racial motives for being in the Waffen-SS and probably dream of going back in time to kill Jews, Poles, Slavs, Gypsies, et cetra. In my opinion , doing an impression of a Waffen-SS soldier is a POLITICAL AND OR MORAL VIEW(S) STATEMENT. I know you people are going to crucify me for that one. However, the Waffen-SS was "....the armed wing of the Nazi Party....criminal organization....list of noted massacers by the Waffen SS: Wormhoudt massacre by SS Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler , 1940, Belgium Le Paradis massacre by SS Division Totenkopf, 1940, France Oradour-sur-Glane massacre by SS Division Das Reich , 1944, France Ochota massacre by SS Kaminski Brigade, 1944, Poland Wola massacre by SS-Sturmbrigade Dirlewanger, 1944 Poland Huta Pieniacka massacre by SS-Galizien division 1944, Poland Tulle massacre by SS Das Reich, 1944, France Marzabotto massacre by 16th SS Panzergrenadier Division Reichsführer-SS, 1944, Italy Malmedy massacre by Kampfgruppe Peiper part of 1st SS Panzer Division, 1944, Belgium Ardeatine massacre by two SS Officers, 1944, Italy Distomo massacre by 4th SS Polizei Division, 1944, Greece Sant'Anna di Stazzema massacre by 16th SS Panzergrenadier Division Reichsführer-SS, 1944, Italy Ardenne Abbey massacre 12th SS Panzer Division Hitlerjugend, 1944, France...".
No member of an airsoft Waffen-SS unit can say they are non-political. They know what the Waffen-SS did in the Second World War and by putting a Waffen uniform on you represent the Waffen-SS and therefore the political views and actions of the Waffen SS, Allgemeine SS, and Nazi Party as a whole. The Heer, Luftwaffe, and Kriegsmarine share their equal blame and guilt in the actions of WWII, but not even as close to that of the SS.

I was looking for impression inspiration and saw this photograph or a Waffen SS Unterscharführer but I can't figure out which cap he is wearing. I'm guessing it is the officer cap. Do you think it would be acceptable for a 15 year-old to be this rank? Attachments:

I would save you money until you could get your StG-44 ammunition pouches and a canteen. You would have to place your spare magazines inside of your tunic or trouser pockets in battle, which would be very uncomfortable. Better yet, save up your money and purchase all of your field gear at once. When I purchase my uniform ans field equipment I'm going to purchase my equipment first and save up money for the uniform itself. That way, if I can't get the money for the uniform there is nothing to grow out of.

I'm new to WWII airsofting, I usually just went free-lance with the other guys on the field so we had no formal organization. I noticed that some of you have an officer impression and I was wondering what you guys do in combat, or if your job was to just sit back and give orders. Also, did you just decide that you were going to be an officer or were you promoted somehow? If I was going to start my own unit, I guess I could certainly be an officer. That is, if I EVER GET A GUN!

I doubt that Viva Arms Co. has produced an MG 42. I have been in contact with them for over three years now and they have told me many times that "...because of the estimated cost of producing an MG 34 again or an MG 42 would be completely out of most of our buyers' affordability...we will probably never construct models for the market." They also do not have the MG 42 on their website. Now if the members of this forum know something about this that I don't I'm pretty sure that I am right.
